The LW Humanist Association will meet Sunday, Nov. 3, in Clubhouse 3, Room 1, at 10:30 a.m. Guest speaker and author Bill Zuersher will speak on Christian presuppositionalism.

Presuppositionalism is the view that the Christian revelation is the starting point for all knowledge and that all other belief systems can be shown to be inconsistent and incoherent. The group will discuss the background to this apologetic method and critique some of the claims commonly made on its behalf. Zuersher will conclude that while presuppositionalism is defective, it kicks up legitimate issues about evolution and human knowledge. Zuersher is an activist for the separation of religion and government and the author of the book “Seeing Through Christianity: A Critique of Beliefs and Evidence.” His interest in religion derives from a concern about the role of faith-based beliefs in American politics.
