Community Church
Community Church’s annual “Sock It to ‘Em” sock drive is now accepting donations of new socks for veterans through the Department of Veterans Affairs. People can bring new packages of men’s and women’s white athletic socks to Sunday worship or to the church office during the week. People can also bring a cash/check offering toward the purchase of socks.
Sunday, Nov. 3, is All Saints Sunday. On All Saints, Community Church has a tradition of celebrating the lives of those who have gone before. Those who have a loved one who has died in the past year that he or she wishes to celebrate, should contact the church office at 562-431-2503 to have their name included. The names of those who have been lost will be read. A candle will be lit and a bell will be rung for each one of them. All Saints will also conclude the stewardship season with a luncheon.
Worship is on Sundays at 9:50 a.m. followed by a time of fellowship and light refreshments. People are welcome to come early for a cup of coffee in the narthex. All are welcome.
Community Church meets at 14000 Church Place in Leisure World. Many of its first-time worshippers come back again. LWers are welcome to come to see what the “friendly church” is all about.
