Bocce Club gets ready for championship party
The LW Bocce Club is finishing up the fall 2024 season and will be holding a final championship game and party on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the bocce court, located behind Clubhouse 2.
The winners of the four tournaments will compete for the grand championship at 10 a.m., followed by a club picnic. Lunch tickets for deli sandwiches are on sale until Nov. 8. Contact Vicki Mingus at 714-875-3150 to preorder. Volunteers are requested to bring a side dish of fruit, pasta salad, or dessert to the party. Those who preordered their lunch tickets will have a choice of assorted deli sandwiches, chips and water to drink. This will be the last celebration of the 2024 bocce season.
Elections for the board of directors of the Bocce Club will also be held during the celebration. Those interested in working on the 2025 bocce board, can send an email to rhonda2C@msn.com for more information.
Additionally there will be sign-ups for the 2025 season during the party. The new season will begin the week of Jan. 7-12. Dues for the entire year of bocce are $5 and will be collected during sign-ups. There are leagues playing on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday each week and the tournaments play for seven consecutive weeks in the winter, spring, and fall.
