Assembly of God
Prayer seems like such a simple concept. Yet watching Jesus pray prompted one of the disciples to ask Jesus, “Teach us to pray,” Luke 11:1-13.
Jesus teaches by way of example, instruction and parable how to pray effectively and in line with God’s will. Prayer is not a genie’s lamp, which when handled correctly ensures the granting of every wish. Prayer is direct communication with God the Father, the creator, the provider, the way-maker, who sometimes answers prayer with a no or a not yet. Discover this week how the practice of prayer can become even more significant in the life of every Christ follower.
The Wednesday Bible study is on session 6 of “Essentials for Finishing Well,” by Hal Habecker. This week’s declaration is “We Will Be Available as God Calls Us to Serve.” This series’ repeated message is being older does not disqualify or excuse one from participating fully in the kingdom of God. As long as there is breath in the body, there is purpose for living. This session guides students to recognize the possibilities and opportunities to serve in meaningful ways throughout their entire faith walk.
