LW Pool Club’s Rusty Aquino is straight pool champ

Leisure World’s best pool players recently convened for the 2024 summer straight pool season championships.

The semi-final match-ups had Dave Silva defeating Steve Edrich 30-18 and Rusty Aquino advanced by outlasting Rufino Ramos (third place) 30-29.

In the end it was two top players, Silva and Aquino, battling for the title in a game of skill and strategy. The final to 50 shots made was a back-andforth battle that was tied at 44 and came down to the final few shots. Silva forged ahead 48-46, but Aquino responded with four straight points to win 50-48 and capture the winner’s title.

Pool action will return in January with a 2025 snooker season.
