Shuf. eboard Club to host spooky Halloween party

The Shuffleboard Club’s Halloween bash will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, from 5-8 p.m. in the larger space in Clubhouse 1 to accommodate the ever growing club membership. Hosted by John and Kay Mount, the progressive dinner will begin with socializing and dinner to begin around 5:30. Members will then go to the courts to play a game of “on the line” where players intentionally try to land their discs on the line, followed by desserts. Members are encouraged to wear their scariest costumes. Prizes will be awarded for the best ones. The sign-up sheet for this fun event is at the courts.

Members are reminded to call their team captains in advance if they cannot play on a given day for their league. Starting immediately, there will be only one open play per week on Mondays from 9-11 a.m. Also, there will be no general membership meetings in November and December of this year.

Oct. 4 results: Team Carol outplayed Team Sally 7-5. All game winners for Team Carol were Carol Johnson and Donna Perkins. Sal LaScala was the sole all-game winner for Team Sally. Team Jack and Team Shel were evenly matched, with a 6-6 tie. Micki Aiello was the all-game winner for Team Shel and Teri James took that same honor for Team Jack.

Oct. 8 results: Team Roger overtook Team Sally 8-4. Allgame winners for Team Roger were Helene Neun and Diane Viau. Bob Peterson was Team Sally’s all-game winner. Team Sue bested Team Karen 8-4 also. All-game winners included Lynn Baidack, Sue Burkschab and Elizabeth Martinez. Team Karen’s all-game winner was John Mount.
