COFFEE WITH A COP
Seal Beach City Council Member Nathan Steele invites the community to meet with him and Seal Beach Chief of Police Michael Henderson at a Coffee with a Cop event.
LW residents are invited to ask questions and socialize with the two on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 9-11 a.m. in the Clubhouse 6 coffee area. The GAF Hospitality Center will provide treats.

During his time with the Seal Beach Police Department, Chief Henderson has worked a variety of assignments, including Operations Bureau and Support Bureau Captain, Patrol Sergeant, Corporal, SWAT team member, Explorer Advisor, Emergency Services Coordinator, Public Information Officer and Homeless Liaison Officer.
Chief Henderson has a bachelor’s degree in occupational studies from California State University, Long Beach and a master’s degree in homeland security studies from American Military University. Chief Henderson was named the SBPD Police Officer of the Year in 2012 and the Supervisor of the Year in 2019. He has twice been awarded the Lifesaving Award and is the recipient of the Medal of Merit.
Often the community’s only interaction with the police is during an emergency or other crisis. During these events, the community is often left with questions about police practices and procedures. Coffee with a Cop is designed to provide an opportunity for the community to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know their police department. The event is informal with no speeches, presentations or agendas, and everyone is welcome.
