Redeemer Lutheran and St. Theodore

On Sunday, Oct. 20, the congregations of Redeemer Lutheran Church and St. Theodore of Canterbury Episcopal Church will celebrate the 22nd Sunday after Pentecost with Rev. Brad Stienstra presiding.

The Communion and worship service gathers at 13564 St. Andrews Drive at 10:30 a.m. After service, people are welcome to gather in the Fellowship Hall to enjoy tea, cookie and snacks together.

The congregations continue to collect food donations of canned and boxed foods for the hungry.

The Bible Study is on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at noon in the sanctuary. Bishop Murray Finck will lead the discussion as the group continues to explore the Ten Commandments.

This Sunday, the message will discuss Jesus reminding his followers that greatness to God comes not from position or wealth or power but through service. Jesus, who is one person in the Holy Trinity, came and saved the world through his life, death and resurrection. He taught, fed, healed and served others during his time on earth. His followers are to act as he did.

Christians are called to a life of service. Each believer is called to their own form of service. Jesus wants each person to fulfill that special role. Every person has a distinct role that no one else can do. Believers should be constant in their service and care for others and recognize those who do a service for them and be kind and thankful to wait staff, grocery clerks, food deliverers, cleaners, gardeners, tellers, and all those who help throughout daily life.
