LW Pool Club wraps up summer with a picnic
The Leisure World Pool Club (LWPC) had its first end of summer picnic Oct. 5. The picnic was held in appreciation of all club members. Members are what make a club and this picnic was done to show thanks and appreciation for all of the members.
The LWPC provided hamburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs, sausage links, potato salad, fruit salad, cookies and soft drinks. There were also a variety of tasty and flavorful side dishes and delectable desserts brought by members.
Over 30 members and their guests attended. The day started with members and their guests practicing for the picnic’s cornhole tournament. Landing a bean bag on the board was one point and getting the bean bag in the hole was three points. Games were played to 13 and must win by two. The final game came down to the two top teams: Steve Edrich and Millie Larsen vs. John Barth and Rosie Edrich. It was a hard-fought battle and in the end Edrich and Larsen took first place.
Good food, great people, cornhole and a beautiful day made the event one of the club’s best of the year.
The club offers a big thank you to everyone who helped serving, setting up and cleaning.
The LWPC hopes to make this an annual event and looks forward to next year.
