LW Baptist Church

LW Baptist will begin its worship service by singing, “I’ll Live for Him Who Died for Me” on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m.

The sermon topic relates to what the Bible says about God forming peoples’ bodies. David prays, “Lord, you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

Paul writes that the body is for the Lord, raising the question of purpose. Paul explains God’s purpose for giving people bodies. The Scripture says, “Glorify God in your body.” This statement is remarkable, because the holy angels glorify God by serving him as ministering spirits without having bodies. All of creation glorifies God by showing the creator’s wisdom in making each part.

Consecration poet Frances Havergal understood this distinction for human beings when she wrote, “Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to thee/Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of thy love.”

The weekly schedule is posted in Sunday’s church bulletin.
