First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together.

Pastor’s Message

Genesis 39 follows Joseph after his brothers handed him off and was eventually sold to an Egyptian officer of Pharaoh. Things were going so well that Joseph was put in charge of all that his master owned. The Lord blessed the Egyptians’ house.

Joseph was handsome in appearance, and in time the master’s wife began to try to lure Joseph to her bed. He refused, ran from her, and as he did, she grasped his garment, and in anger falsely accused him of attempting to take advantage of her. His master then stripped Joseph of his authority and send him to prison. But God would honor Joseph for his godly acts, and even in prison he would rise to a position of authority.

Genesis 21 reads, “The Lord was with Joseph and extended kindness to him and gave him favor in the sight of the chief jailor.” Joseph trusted God even though his circumstances were upended in a different land, far from his family, falsely accused and held prisoner. He continued to honor God, despite his struggles.
