Assembly of God

Pastor Chuck Franco will present the second part of his “Spiritual Maturity” sermon series, taken from James 1:5-17 on Sunday, Oct. 20. While many older adults would appreciate having the energy they had in their younger years, few would trade the wisdom gained the hard way, from making mistakes in the foolishness of youth, to go back and live those years again. Like a crown, spiritual maturity signals the character, dignity, power and grace enjoyed by long-lived believers who continue to seek closeness with God and accept his guidance. This Sunday’s message affirms those who are in the continuing process of spiritual growth, knowing that journey is never complete until they stand in the presence of God at the end of earthly life.

The Bible study is on session four of “Essentials for Finishing Well,” by Hal Habecker on Wednesday, Oct. 23. This series encourages senior adults to proactively walk out their faith in any circumstance. God’s purpose for one’s life is never removed. This week focuses on the importance of investing oneself in significant relationships. “We Will Care For/Love Others,” is one of the seven declarations of this study that pave the way for relevance and contentment in the senior years.
