Art League announces winners of monthly competition

The LW Art League met on Oct. 8 in Clubhouse 4. The guest artists were husband and wife duo John and Troy Palmer.

The Palmers made Powerpoint presentation of their works. The two spent their careers building movie props for the entertainment industry, including some blockbuster movies.

They also donated a 4-billion-year-old meteorite and a children’s book with Troy’s illustrations as the raffle prize. They served as the judges for the art competition.

Susie Ralston won the best of show award; Linda Frysinger won first place for the intermediate category and first place for the 3D/craft category. Carol Levine won first place in the masters category and the popular vote award.

The Art League will meet on Nov. 12. On Nov. 22, the club will spotlight artist and artisan Yvette Louie.
