Leisure World residents are currently receiving and opening their Official General Election Ballots. The American First Republican Club encourages its members to vote for the conservative and fiscally responsible candidates. As for the non-political positions, the club recommends Bobby Papoulias and Perla Mendoza for school board trustee, Janet Nguyen for county supervisor and Karl Seckel for water district director.

The propositions are complex and often written in a confusing way. The America First Republican Club recommends its members vote “no” on all propositions, except No. 35. The club believes all Propositions will cost taxpayers more in taxes and long-term unintended consequences.

The Seal Beach proposal Service Measure GG, if approved, will increase the sales tax by 0.05 cents, resulting in an anticipated $3 million income for the city budget. A similar measure resulted in a 1% sales tax jump. In any case, it will add to purchasing costs.

Those who have questions on any of these decisions or need help voting can visit the America First Republican booth near Clubhouse 6 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Volunteers will also give advice on filling out, turning in ballots. The club recommends LWers vote early so they have the opportunity to verify that the ballot was received at the Orange County Registrar of Voters.

The America First Republican Club reminds all residents to be cordial, non-confrontational and civil in all their interactions with those who don’t hold the same values or opinions.
