LEAVES AND DHARMA Willingly serving as Beauty, Or as browse, Or as food for algae to feed ants, As shade for the old, the young, the in-between, Shelter for birds’ nests — Until their tree dharma is fulfilled. Then, silently, patiently, They sacrifice themselves to the Earth And a new cycle of Life.
