Sunshine Club

Dr. Claire Butler will speak to the Sunshine Club about the important laboratory research being conducted at UCI MIND, on Friday, Oct. 4, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m.

Dr. Claire Butler is a postdoc trainee at UC Irvine. She completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees in biomedical sciences at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, and earned her PhD at the University of Cambridge. She joined the Green Lab and MODEL-AD at UCI MIND in 2022 for her postdoc training, where she studies the role of risk genes in the progression of Alzheimer’s disease pathology in SUNSHINE

different animal models.

During October, the Sunshine Club will have four speakers including Butler on Oct. 4; Dr. Patel from Los Alamitos/UCI will speak on Oct. 11; Salley Bowman, director of Ivy Park will speak on Oct. 18; and orthopedic doctor Andrew Foster from Los Alamitos/UCI will speak on Oct. 25.

All residents are welcome to join the meetings. The Sunshine Club requires no membership fees, but donations are welcome. Refreshment will be served. People are asked to arrive promptly, those who arrive late for the meeting are asked to use the back door to not to disturb the presentation.
