League championships near after nine weeks

The Leisure World Pool Club has completed week nine of its 10-game straight pool summer season. Straight pool is a game similar to eight ball but with all balls available to both players to score. It’s a race to 30 points with a handicap system in place. Thirteen of the 22 players are still alive for a top 10 finish and a spot in the playoffs.

Week 10 should provide plenty of drama and excitement as the league looks forward to the championship Tuesday, Oct. 8. at 9 a.m. in Clubhouse 1. This event is free and open to current Leisure World members and their guests. Seating is limited but available on a first-come, first seated basis.
