Fall leagues begin 10 week play
LW SHUFFLEBOARD CLUB
The LW Shuffleboard Club’s fall leagues have begun. Participants were excited to be back playing in competitive leagues. There are two leagues of five teams each, one on Friday mornings with play starting at 9:30 a.m., and the second on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. Four teams in each league compete weekly with one team having a bye each week. The league runs for 10 weeks.
The club congratulates all participants for a great week one. Sept. 20 fall morning league results: Team Sally overtook Team Shel 8-4. In the second contest, Team Carol and Team Patti tied six games each. On Team Carol, Steve Edrich was an allgame winner and Hoan Lebhac was an all-game winner on Team Patti.
Sept. 24 fall evening league results: Team Sue overtook Team Harold 8-4. In the second contest, Team Karen and Team Sally tied six games each. On Team Sue, Lori Probert and Elizabeth Martinez were all-game winners and Sal LaScala was an all-team winner on Team Harold. On Team Karen, Sue Rotter was an all-game winner and Sally Fowler and Bert Thompson were the all-game winners for Team Sally.
Open play sessions continue Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9-11. Watching league games on Friday mornings at 9:30 a.m. or Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. in the courts building behind Clubhouse 1 is another way to see what shuffleboard competitions are like. Everyone is welcome, but closed-toed shoes are required.
