COMMUNITY KARAOKE

The upbeat music set the happy mood for the karaoke folks on Sept. 18. Shannon Harrison surprised the group with her stuffed dog while singing the old Elvis hit “Hound Dog.” Marvin Rolnick did a rousing gospel tune. With lots of personality, Joan Rosenberg sang a pop rock tune from The Cure band, “Love Song.”

Richard Yokomi and Vito Villamor joined up to give a 1970s John Denver country song. Gerry Tagaloa crooned “Always on My Mind.” Paul Renaldi roused the group with the rock ‘n’ roll Beatles hit “I Saw Her Standing There.” A faithful karaoke listener, Lucille Fitch, encouraged her son, Mickey, to sing for her.

The club thanks Pat Paternoster and Judi Ornoff for serving Hoagies and ice cream during the Wednesday night karaoke party, which are held weekly from 5:30-9:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 1. People are invited to improve their performance at the club’s Monday practice sessions in Clubhouse 6 from 1-3 p.m.
