The Photo Arts Club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. Everyone is welcome.

At the Sept. 12 meeting, President Regine Schumacher reported the recent passing of one of the Photo Arts Club’s original members, Gil Moore. He was a staunch member of the club since he and his wife moved to Leisure World in 1988. He was the pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church, a great photographer and was highly admired and deeply loved by all who knew him. Every October at the Arts & Crafts Festival, he sold the greeting cards that he had created and many people looked forward to the event to buy his cards.

A field trip to the Cerritos Library is planned for Oct. 24. There are two sculpture gardens, plenty of free parking and the library has unique architectural features, inside and out. There are many great photo opportunities.

The photos will be shown at the club’s holiday party meeting in December. Details on driving directions and time of meeting will be provided at the Oct. 10 meeting.

The next assignment is unusual angles. People should email their best three photos to Ben Benjamins at benbenjamins@hotmail.com by Oct. 7. For information about the club, call Regine Schumacher at 562-430-7978.
