LW Shuffl eboard Club fall league season begins
The Shuffleboard Club began its fall season leagues last Friday morning and Tuesday evening. There are currently five teams for each league, and there is room in each league for adding additional players for the 10-week season. Anyone who is interested in joining a team can contact copresident Karen Mendon at 562822-0835 for more information.
For the last three weeks, teammates and captains have been practicing together to be ready for the season. During four workout occasions, 12-15 players attended, playing friendly games, but also experienced the competition of league play. Open play sessions continue Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9-11. Watching league games Friday mornings at 9:30 or Tuesday evenings at 6 in the courts building behind Clubhouse 1 is another way to see what shuffleboard competitions are like. Everyone is welcome.

A typical league practice group includes longtime club members, people who haven't played much shuffl eboard since early June, new members, and players who have worked hard over the summer to improve their game.
