COMMUNITY KARAOKE

Karen Morris showed up early at the Sept. 11 karaoke party. She’s always prepared to entertain the audience and chose to sing “Have You Forgotten” in memory of 9/11 survivors. Bob Barnum also sang a good tune to remember that infamous day called “Superman.” On a light note, Vito Villamor sang a Conway Twitty country version of “Mona Lisa.”

Joan Rosenberg gave a beautiful “There’s a Kind of Hush.” Vinny Correnti sang a strong “Time in a Bottle.” Donna Cooper rarely sings but was applauded for “There He Goes.” Members enjoyed the guitar music of Chuck Oehl’s “Amarillo by Morning.” Despite the California fires, Dorothy Farrington sang the beautiful “September in the Rain.”

Clubhouse 1 is a vibrant place to be for the karaoke parties each Wednesday from 5:30-9:30 p.m. People are often surprised by the musical talents of their friends and neighbors. A smaller group comes to Clubhouse 6 on Mondays from 1-3 p.m. to fine-tune a song or two. Everyone is welcome.
