Speaker to discuss SB wildlife refuge; Getty Villa tickets on sale

GARDEN CLUB

The Garden Club will meet Monday, Sept. 16, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 2. Joe Lazarri will be the featured speaker, presenting a program on the Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge.

Lazarri, a retired Disneyland director, has been volunteering, along with his wife Margo, at the Wildlife Refuge for the past 14 years. He will discuss how and why it became a wildlife refuge and other environmental aspects of the refuge.

The club will be selling tickets to its Sept. 26 tour of the Getty Villa in the Pacific Palisades. All residents are welcome to join. Tickets are $50 and include a docent-guided tour and a box lunch consisting of a turkey sandwich, chips and a cookie. Tickets can also be purchased by calling Elaine Lee at 714-365-9367.

The We Care table will be set up in the lobby for donations of non-perishable food items, gift cards and cash.

All are welcome to attend. Coffee, tea and cookies will be served after the meeting.
