Presidents’ Council Meeting Recap

THE PRESIDENTS’ COUNCIL Clubhouse 4 and Zoom Tele-Video Conference The regular monthly meeting of the Presidents’ Council of Leisure World Seal Beach was convened at 1:30 p.m. by President Carson on Wednesday, Sept. 4, in Clubhouse 4 and via Zoom tele-video conference.

The following is a recap:

• Presidents’ Council meeting minutes of Aug. 7, 2024 were approved by the Council to stand as written.

• GAF President Anna Derby spoke about the Walk & Roll-ATh on that is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Preregistration is in Clubhouse 6 every Wednesday through Oct. 23, from 9-11 a.m.

• Mutual 8 GRF representative Michael Banfield spoke about the GRF Salvation Army Donation event scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 25. The Salvation Army will be bring six trucks to accept donations of small furniture, clothing, household goods, etc. Shareholders do not have to use the bags provided.

• SafetyManagerEloyGomezspokeabout“BootsontheGround” program. This program is a second initiative where volunteers on ground are present in the event of a disaster to report and help minimize risk and maximize safety. “Boots on the Ground” drill is scheduled for Sept. 18, at 10 a.m. to test radio reception. Gomez also provided an update on the Red Cross emergency bag distribution and added that most of the bags were distributed along with the instructions on what should be in the emergency go-bag.

• Senior Director of Facilities Mark Weaver updated the Council on the insurance requirements to have fire prevention devices installed on stovetops. He also introduced Mike Chase, regional vice president from GOLi Electric.

• MikeChase,regionalvicepresidentfromGOLiElectric,presented and discussed the products manufactured by GOLi Electric.

• Physical Property Manager Kevin Black spoke about step-bystep process on obtaining patio permits.

• Senior Director of Mutual Administration Jodi Hopkins provided updates in the Stock Transfer and Mutual Administration Department.

• Stock Transfer Manager Rosie Estrada provided updates on HomeWiseDocs and Escrows.

• ExecutiveManagerofMemberServicesDavePotterintroduced the Corporate Transparency Act. Potter also shared a plan to conduct the Insurance Town hall meeting with Council members feedback.

• The next meeting is on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. It will be streamed via Zoom tele-video conference and YouTube Live.
