Meals on Wheels Orange County
Beginning Sept. 16, Meals on Wheels Orange County is moving from the North Seal Beach Center to its temporary location at OCFA Fire Station #48, 3131 North Gate Road, Seal Beach. It will remain open Monday-Friday, from 11 a.m.-noon, for anyone 60 or older.
Suggested contribution is $3. Guests under 60 can enjoy lunch for $5. Meals are served on a first-come, first-served basis and come with 1% milk.
LW Minibus service is available for a pick up and return at the Amphitheater bus stop on St. Andrews Drive. Call 562-4316586, ext. 2372.
Thursday, Sept. 12
Diced chicken breast with sweet and sour sauce, oriental vegetable blend, egg noodles, whole wheat crackers (four pack), canned peaches and sugar-free pudding.
Friday, Sept. 13
Pulled pork with barbecue sauce, baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread with Smart Balance and reduced-sugar peach crisp.
Monday, Sept. 16
Chicken breast with savory tomato sauce, peas and carrots, brown rice, whole wheat dinner roll with Smart Balance and tropical fruit mix.
Tuesday, Sept. 17
Beef cheeseburger with swiss cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato and red onion, whole grain hamburger bun, mustard and mayonnaise, fiesta corn and bell pepper salad and pineapple chunks.
Wednesday, Sept. 18
Veggie egg salad, California salad, Moroccan lentil vegetable soup, spring mix, whole wheat bread with Smart Balance and fresh orange.
