Democratic Club

The LW Democratic Club will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 25, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1:30 p.m. All LW Democrats and supporters—regardless of membership—are welcome to attend.
The keynote speaker for the meeting will be Ada Briceño, chair of the Democratic Party of Orange County (DPOC). She will share information about the Democratic Convention in Chicago as well as what the party is doing to elect Democrats.
Candidate Matt Bragman will also attend the meeting. He will update club members on the status of his campaign for election as LW’s Los Alamitos School District Board Trustee, representing Area 5.

The club’s hospitality and voter information booth, located in the parking lot outside clubhouse 6, will be open every Tuesday and Thursday in September from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Yardsignswillbeavailable at the booth for:

• Harris/Walz for president and vice-president.
• Dave Min for House of Representatives District 47.
• Matt Bragman for school board trustee Area 5.
• Franaz Pardasani for school board trustee Area 4.

Some races will be listed on the general election ballots as nonpartisan. Democrat Frances Marquez’s contest to replace termed-out Andrew Do on the County Board of Supervisors is a prime example. The Democratic Club believes this will be one of the most critically important races on the Nov. 5 Leisure World ballots.
Both new and long-term club members are invited to attend the “lunch bunch” on the first Wednesday of every month at 11:30 a.m. at the Hof’s Hut Restaurant & Bakery, located at 12489 Seal Beach Blvd. Advance reservations are not necessary, but information is available by calling Debbie Wrathall at 714-658-6111 or emailing debbiewrathall@ mac.com.
