GRF BUS TRIP

The Recreation Department is conducting a GRF bus trip to experience the Nethercutt Museum, featuring a buffet lunch at the Odyssey, on Thursday, Sept. 19. The bus departs from the Amphitheater parking lot at 7:30 a.m., the tour begins at 10 and lunch is 12:30 p.m.

The Nethercutt Collection includes over 250 prestigious, antique and exotic vehicles from American and European origin including the “Twenty Grand,” a custom Duesenberg Model SJ ultra-luxury sedan which was built to be a key display at the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair.

Once assembled in Indianapolis, Indiana, the finished automobile’s set price was an astronomical $20,000 during the middle of the Great Depression, when cars typically cost around $600-800. It is considered to be the most famous Duesenberg ever built and is one of the most valuable cars in the world.

Lunch is hosted nearby at the Odyssey atop the scenic hills of Granada Hills, with captivating views of the surrounding San Fernando Valley.

Tickets are $105 per person and may be purchased at the Recreation Office, located on the lower level of Building 5 or online at https://www.lwsb.com/ special-events/.

Participants need to complete a release form and return it to the office in person or via email.
