Home Instead sponsors Golden Age Foundation’s Walk & Roll-A-Thon

The Golden Age Foundation (GAF) is resurrecting its biggest fundraiser of the year, the 2024 Walk & Roll-A-Thon. Originally held in 1997, it will help raise money for the GAF while encouraging healthly and active lifestyles. The Walk & Roll-A-Thon will be held on Oct. 26, beginning in the Clubhouse 6 parking lot.

Home Instead recently donated $1,000 to the GAF to sponsor the event. It has been providing service to seniors in the local community since 1999 to help seniors age in place in their own homes. Home Instead’s services include assistance with activities of daily living, such as meal prep, errands and companionship. It also provides personal care and specialized care, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

GAF board members will be in the Hospitality Room in Clubhouse 6 from 9-11 a.m., weekdays, to help people register for the event. The cost is $30 for individual registration; $50 for a couple. People who register before Sept. 18 will receive a commemorative t-shirt and a box lunch.
