Community Karaoke
People who are interested in trying karaoke are invited to join the Community Karaoke Club’s Monday practice sessions, which are a non-threatening way to begin. The group meets each Monday upstairs in Clubhouse 6 from 1-3 p.m. The song books include a collection of pop hits, country, gospel, rock, patriotic songs and more. Singers can try out a song or two and find the perfect version and pitch for their voice.
Wednesday evening karaoke parties are the highlight of the week for some folks. It’s a go-to club to meet new friends and enjoy all sorts of music.
On Aug. 28, Craig Gall sang a husky “Unchain My Heart.” “Catch a Falling Star” was the familiar tune sung by Ray Geierman. The group hummed along with Karen Morris’ “I Believe in Music.” Frank Farmer delighted with a gospel favorite. Richard Yokomi got people moving with the music of “Bad Moon Rising.” The powerful voice of David Noble entertained with an Elvis hit, “That’s All Right.” Martha Destra grabbed attention with “I Love This Bar.” “Bird on the Wire” is a beautiful, sad song well done by Bob Barnum. The sweet voice of Kyung Ju sang the emotional song by Bread, “If.”
Karaoke nights are held in Clubhouse 1 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
