Louisiana recently passed a law requiring the posting of the Ten Commandments in each of the state’s public school classrooms. The law, a blatant violation of the Establishment Clause of the U.S. Constitution, has caused a firestorm of controversy.

Robert Richert will challenge the veracity of the popular legend of the Ten Commanments. He will highlight the history of the ancient Near East, and emphasize the influence of Sumerian and Babylonian culture on the story of Moses and the Ten Commandments. Richert will conclude by offering contemporary alternatives to these ancient Hebrew edicts.

Richert has studied issues related to philosophy and religion for over 50 years. He is an award winning writer and public speaker, and his talks are always informative, entertaining, and well-received.
