Hula dancers available for birthdays, social events
Hula is fun and its workout is gentle. Newcomers are encouraged to take lessons.
Classes meet every Tuesday upstairs in Clubhouse 6 and every Thursday outdoors at Veterans Plaza. Both classes start at 1:15 p.m.
During the summer, there are many Hawaiian style luau festivities with hula. Earlier this month, Hui O Hula entertained at Seal Beach Health & Rehabilitation Center and Bethany Church in Long Beach at its luau.
On Aug. 20, they danced at Alamitos West Health & Rehabilitation in Los Alamitos. Dancers had so much fun that they are looking forward to next summer.
The club wishes a happy 98th birthday to Mutual 10 resident Alan Kahn. His wife Belinda invited a few Hui O Hula dancers to wish him many happy returns with a couple of hula.
Sharing the aloha in hula with the LW community always brings great joy to the dancers. For class and performance information, contact Kaye Huff at 562-431-2242 or email Jojo@huiohula.com.
