Guys and Gals Golf Tournament
The Guys and Gals Tournament was played in sunny and very warm conditions on Aug. 21. There was little wind, and it was a lovely morning to be playing golf with friends. The course is in very good condition, although it was initially wet due to overnight watering.
Teams of various skilled golfers of one man and one woman vied for best net scores (gross score minus handicap), plus two circle holes (shots within a 5-foot radius are rewarded), and two closest-to-the-pin challenges. A total of 28 teams (56 players) competed and completed the 18 holes.
With great playing conditions, scores were excellent with 25 of the 28 teams being net at or below par plus there were 10 circle hole winners with 52 birdies. Low net score for the round was 43 by Tom Owens and Ann Tran. For the men, closest to the pin was Tom Owens, and for the women it was Nancy Tye and Grace Choi.
