Ballroom dancers and novices invited to join Sept. 3 mixer
DANCERS & MIXERS CLUB
The Dancers & Mixers Club will host a dance at Clubhouse 4 on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m. featuring live music for ballroom dancing. Ballroom dances include foxtrot, waltz, cha-cha, swing, tango, rhumba, mambo, night-club two step and salsa.
“Mostly we just fake it,” resident John Hlavac said. Those who have never danced before will find that this dance is a place to try something new. Dancing is a gentle exercise which helps people age gracefully, but the main idea is to have fun and be with other people. The dance is free, but donations are welcome.
Music is performed by LW resident Linda Herman, who plays a digital accordion. Her repertoire is extensive.
There will be chances to line dance and also to be in a mixer, which is a great way to meet new people. Everyone is welcome. Partners are not needed. People are encouraged to bring their favorite beverages and snacks.
