Cypress City Councilwoman Frances Marquez, who is running for election as LW’s District 1 representative on the Orange County Board of Supervisors, will join club members at the LW Democratic Club’s meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 28. All LW Democrats and supporters, regardless of membership, are welcome to join. The meeting will be held in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1:30 p.m.
In order for attendees to have time to socialize with one another, participants can arrive as early as 12:45 to enjoy coffee, water and individually wrapped snacks.
Marquez is the Democratic Party’s endorsed candidate to replace termed-out Andrew Do on the Orange County Board. She has pledged that if elected she will work closely with Democratic board members Katrina Foley and Vicente Sarmiento to ensure increased accountability and oversight in Orange County’s government. She is committed to delivering health, housing, and safety resources to the communities that need them most.
In addition to talking about her campaign, Marquez will also help those in attendance better understand the role the OC Board of Supervisors plays in their individual lives.
All members are invited to attend the club’s popular “Lunch Bunch” program on the first Wednesday of every month at 11:30 a.m. These monthly gatherings give members a chance to get to know each other in an informal setting. Conversations are freefl owing and not necessarily political. The site for these monthly gatherings has been changed to the Hof ’s Hut Restaurant & Bakery, located at 12489 Seal Beach Blvd. Advance reservations are not necessary but more information is available by calling Debbie Wrathall at 714-658-6111 or emailing debbiewrathall@mac.com.
Democrats and supporters who want to learn more about the club or who just want to discuss politics with other likeminded residents can stop by the club’s booth, located in the parking lot of Clubhouse 6. The booth will be open every Tuesday in August from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Harris for President yard signs are now available at the booth or by emailing mlarson.telfords@gmail.com.
