Assembly of God

Pastor Chuck Franco will continue the “Living for Eternity” series with a message titled “The Resurrected Body” on Sunday, Aug. 25.

1 Corinthians 15:1-44, 50-53 portrays the change that takes place from the mortal body to the resurrected, glorified body. Many anticipate freedom from pain, stress and disease, and the ultimate joy of living forever in the presence of God. LW Assembly of God will take a deeper look at what to expect in heaven this week.

The monthly Hymn Sing will be held this Sunday, Aug. 25, at 6 p.m. in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby. All LW residents, families and friends are welcome to enjoy singing their favorite hymns, special music, a short devotional message and fellowship.

The Wednesday Bible study will study session three, titled “Hope,” of the “Thriving in Babylon” study by Larry Osborne. Daniel was reared as royalty. He was singled out at Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar’s direction as a young man who was healthy, good-looking, intelligent, knowledgeable in several branches of learning, wise, and suited to serve in a royal palace. He was essentially kidnapped and pressed into service in a culture completely opposed to his upbringing and religious conviction. How did Daniel not only survive but thrive in that element, bringing God honor and not bowing to that society’s idols? He had a biblical foundation of certainty of who God is and that God’s purpose was being accomplished, even in Daniel’s personal discomfort.

LW Assembly of God meets Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The Wednesday Bible study is at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The Hymn Sing is held on the fourth Sunday.
