Tribute to Tom Jones August 15 | 7:30 p.m. Amphitheater Stage Sponsor: Financial Partners Credit Union

On Aug. 15, singer and entertainer Tino Macchia will tribute Sir Tom Jones on Leisure World’s Amphitheater stage. The Welsh singer sold over 100 million records with 36 Top 40 hits in the United Kingdom, 22 in Canada and 19 in the United States, including “It’s Not Unusual,” “What’s New Pussycat?,” “Delilah,” “Green, Green Grass of Home,” “She’s A Lady,” “Kiss” and “Sexbomb.”

Macchia has been described as having “a rare voice that combines raw power with great sensitivity, delivered with a uniquely rich tone,” by Dr. Richard Niles, who worked with Paul McCartney and Ray Charles.

He will perform with the same linup that Jones had when he toured the world: a 10-piece band with four horns and two female backup vocalists.

Macchia is one of the most in-demand singers in Orange County. For the last 30 years, he has performed at nightclubs, casinos, corporate functions and theaters. He performs the great classics of pop and the American Songbook, breathing new life into beloved hits.

Koffel’s Food Truck and Scooter’s Sweet Shack will be on site at the Amphitheater from 5-7 p.m. serving burgers, hot dogs, ice cream desserts and beverages. Cash and cards are accepted. Minibus transportation is available before and after shows.
