Assembly of God
Pastor Chuck Franco will continue the series “Living for Eternity” with “Hell is Real” from 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 on Sunday, Aug. 18. The Leisure World Assembly of God meets Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.
Every action, every decision, produces consequences, good and bad. This natural law is vitally important when applied to the decisions made that affect one’s eternal existence. God created humankind for relationship with him. God did not create anyone for destruction. When one chooses to rebel against God’s perfect plan, and then persists in that unrepentant rebellion, one chooses hell as their eternal destiny. Although an unpopular and uncomfortable concept to consider, it is nonetheless part of the complete Word of God that must be preached. As depressing as this topic could be, Christians find joy in knowing Jesus’s death and resurrection provides the ultimate cure for sin and eternal separation from God, and that cure is available to all who believe and confess Christ as their Savior.
The Wednesday Bible study meets at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The study will focus on “Prepared for Babylon,” which is Session 2 of “Thriving in Babylon,” by Larry Osborne.
Daniel’s life experiences uniquely prepared him for what he was going to experience living in a society that opposed God. That preparation was not easy, but Daniel’s character and spiritual foundation needed to be rock solid to overcome what was ahead, just as it is for Christians today.
The hymn sing will be held at 6 p.m., Aug. 25, in the lobby of Clubhouse 3. The sing is held on the fourth Sunday of every month. All Leisure World residents and friends are welcome.
