The Democratic Club’s next monthly Voter Education Series will be on Wednesday, Aug. 21, in Clubhouse 3, Room 3 at 1 p.m. It will feature an open discussion on the subject of talking to family and friends about the 2024 election. The discussion will be moderated by board member Bev Bender. Advance reservations are not required. More information is available by emailing beverleybender@gmail.com.
The club’s next membership meeting will be on Wednesday, Aug. 28, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1:30. All LW Democrats and supporters, regardless of current membership, are invited to attend.
Vice President Kamala Harris is now the Democratic Party’s official candidate for election as president. LW Democrats expressed overwhelming support for her candidacy during its July membership meetings.

Democrats and supporters who want to learn more about the Leisure World club or who want to discuss politics with other likeminded residents can stop by the club booth, located outside of Clubhouse 6 every Tuesday in August from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
The club’s popular “Lunch Bunch” program will be held on the first Wednesday of every month at 11:30 a.m. at the Sunny Side Café, 2940 Westminster Blvd. Participating in this monthly gathering gives both new and long-term members a chance to get to know each other in an informal setting. Advance reservations are not required. More information is available by emailing debbiewrathall@mac.com.
The club thanks its members and supporters for contributing a record-breaking amount in response to its annual fundraising efforts. Money raised in this campaign, which ends on Aug. 15, will be used exclusively for direct candidate support and voter outreach.
