LWer Janet Evans' (l) nephew Miles Evans and his volley- ball partner Chase Budinger are in Paris at the Olympics to compete in beach volleyball. Janet comes from a family of 11 kids. The family has been getting together at Carpin- teria Beach, California, for over 75 years. "Along the way, our kids and their kids, have enjoyed the tradition too,” said Evans. Some, like Miles, have advanced in the sport. Miles played for UC Santa Barbara. After traveling all over the world to compete in various tournaments, his lifelong dream of representing the USA at the Olympics is a reality.
