Redeemer Lutheran and St. Theodore’s
On Sunday, Aug. 4, the congregations of Redeemer Lutheran Church and St. Theodore of Canterbury Episcopal Church will celebrate the 11th Sunday after Pentecost with Bishop Murray Finck presiding. The Communion and worship service gathers 10:30 a.m. at 13564St.AndrewsDrive Cedric Elmer and Sharon Heck will be play a piano duet. Lisa Nunley will be the soloist.
Fellowship will follow service in the Fellowship Hall, where coffee, tea and snacks will be provided. All are welcome.
The congregations continue to collect donations of canned and boxed foods for the hungry.
The Bible study will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 7, to continue the study on the Book of Jonah.
For the month of August, the congregations will read from John 6. This is Jesus’s discourse ontheBreadofLife. Jesussees that the people following him. They ask for more food, for more signs, more works. They had been fed and want to know what to do. Jesus puts it to them directly: believe. Believe in God. Believe in Jesus who was sent by God. He ends with the statement that he is the Bread of Life.
