The Emergency Information Council (EIC) held its third vital document scanning event on July 22.

Sixteen residents brought their stock and membership certificates, medical power of attorney documents and other important papers to be scanned onto a free thumb drive. Driver’s licenses and credit cards were also scanned as well.

Hundreds of those documents were saved in a convenient form to fit in a resident’s go bag. There were plenty of thumb drives left at the end of the event, and a repeat of the event will be held in about three months. The EIC were also handed out a waterproof canister to store the drive and a fireproof bag to keep original documents safe to those who made a donation.
