Assembly of God

It is a rare privilege to know someone who, when they make a promise, one is completely confident that the promise will be kept. Such confidence inspires unwavering trust. In Matthew 5:17-20, Jesus continues his teaching known as “The Sermon on the Mount,” promising that not the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.

The Bible study continues the series “Hebrews,” with video teacher Derwin Gray, ex-NFL player, pastor, author and teacher. Session nine is titled “Following Jesus.” Western culture reinforces the importance of “me, myself and I.” Following Jesus demands sacrificial love, compassion, at times laying aside one’s rights for the good of others. Truly following Jesus reinforces a multi-directional love relationship:upward, with God; inward, with self; outward, with others. Student participation in the discussion reinforces the Biblical principles and fosters discussion.
