June Security Incident Report

The following is the Security incident report from June. It has been edited for brevity and clarity.

FIRE: 1

•June 4, 12:33 p.m., Mutual 11

A resident smelled smoke in his bedroom. OC Fire Authority called, no smoke or fire detected.

COYOTE INCIDENTS: 43

•43 sightings reported.

THEFT: 5

•June 17, 1:09 p.m., Mutual 7

A resident reported an unknown person removed items from unit, but there was no theft. A caregiver assisting resident removed unwanted items.

• June 20, 12:04 p.m., Mutual 10

Unknown person removed a RFID tag from a resident’s headlight.

•June 23, 7:58 p.m., Mutual 7

An unknown person took cigarettes from a resident’s front porch.

•June 28, 7:45 a.m., Mutual 4

An unknown person removed tomato plants from a resident’s side planter.

•June 30, noon, Mutual 10

An unknown person removed a California registration sticker from a license plate.

VANDALISM: 1

•June 27, 10:08 p.m., Mutual 1

A resident stated an unknown person stained her patio carpet.

PET COMPLAINTS

•June 1, 11:55 a.m., Mutual 14

A resident complained of an unleashed dog. Security advised dog owner of leashing policy.

•June 3, 10:25 a.m. Mutual 2

A resident observed unleashed large dog attack a smaller dog. An animal control officer was at the scene.

•June 12, 8:14 p.m., Mutual 1

Two barking dogs were left in a unit. Residents were not in the unit. Security issued a pet citation.

•June 13, 5:44 p.m., Mutual 7

Dogs were barking in a unit. Security issued a pet citation.

TRAFFIC INCIDENTS: 12

•June 4, 11 a.m., HCC Lot

Two vehicles moving in reverse collided.

•June 6, 1:37 p.m., CH 5

A vehicle in reverse struck another moving vehicle.

•June 6, 12:43 p.m., CH 2

An unknown person struck the driver’s side door and mirror of a parked car and fled the scene.

•June 8, 5:05 p.m., 1351 Oakmont Road

Two moving vehicles collided; no injuries.

•June 10, 9:30 a.m., Mutual 1

A resident in a moving vehicle struck a parked vehicle.

•June 14, 3:19 p.m., Mutual 3

A resident struck a parked vehicle while parallel parking.

•June 18, 1:10 p.m., St. Andrews Gate

A resident struck a stop sign.

•June 19, 1:40 p.m., Main Gate

A vehicle struck a stopped vehicle while attempting to pass .

•June 25, 1:50 p.m., Mutual 15

A vehicle struck a mobility

scooter. There were no injuries; scratches to scooter only.

•June 26, 4:34 p.m., Mutual 1

A resident stated a vendor in a vehicle scratched his outside wall.

•June 26, 7:50 a.m., Mutual 9

A vehicle in reverse struck a parked vehicle.

•June 27, 12:06 p.m., 1642 Merion Way

An unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle and fled the scene.

NOISE COMPLAINTS: 7

•June 1, 1:02 a.m., Mutual 4

Ongoing issue with a resident complaining about noise from the neighboring unit. No noise detected; neighboring unit vacant.

•June 2, 8:09 p.m., Mutual 5

A resident complained of a loud party at neighboring unit. Security spoke to the neighbor, who reduced noise level.

•June 18, 12:07 a.m., Mutual 4

Ongoing complaint of loud music. No noise detected.

•June 20, 5:10 a.m., Mutual 4

Ongoing complaint of loud music.

•June 22, 11:17 p.m., Mutual 8

A resident complained of loud TV noise. The neighbor lowered the volume.

Ongoing complaint of noise coming from neighboring unit.

A resident complained of noise from a neighboring unit. Other resident was assembling furniture, stated they would reduce volume.

A resident reported a suspicious person in carport. No person found.

•June 4, 1:16 p.m., Mutual 2

Security responded to a civil matter between residents and kept the peace.

• June 5, 5:32 p.m., Aquatic Center

A resident was involved in a verbal altercation with pool staff.

•June 5, 5:05 p.m., Mutual 5

Mutual in ongoing dispute with a resident

•June 5, 2:40 p.m., Mutual 4

Ongoing dispute between residents over money.

• June 5, 10:30 a.m., Golf Course

A resident’s visitor was playing on golf course. Visitor left after being advised of rules.

• June 6, 11:30 a.m., Main Gate

Ongoing issue with unauthorized visitor. Person was stopped at the Main Gate.

•June 8, 4:16 p.m., Mutual 2

A resident stated an unknown person vandalized his vehicle; police were at the scene.

•June 11, 12:29 p.m., Mutual 1

A resident reported different occurrences where she believed she was being harassed.

•June 12, 2:49 p.m., Mutual 5

A resident stated people are putting nails near his vehicle and tires.

•June 13, 4:50 p.m., Mutual 12

A resident was in a confrontation with a social worker. Security kept the peace.

•June 13, 3:22 p.m., Mutual 5

A resident observed property on patio in disarray when

returning to unit after six months.

• June 15, 10:25 a.m., Main Gate

A female transient walked through exit and was escorted out of the community.

• June 17, 9:45 a.m., Clubhouse 6

A resident stated an unknown person walked over to her, yelled and cursed at her, then left the scene.

•June 18, 6:27 a.m., Mutual 9

Residents were involved in a dispute over new construction.

•June 22, 1 p.m. and 3:29 p.m., Mutual 4

Ongoing neighbor dispute. Security kept the peace.

•June 25, 12:05 p.m., Mutual 2

SB police were called to keep the peace for a domestic dispute. No arrests were made.

•June 27, 5:30 p.m., Mutual 1

Resident dispute over alleged vehicle damage. Security kept the peace.

•June 30, 2:40 p.m., Mutual 15

A resident reported a car wash violation. Person left before arrival of Security.
