First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

After meeting God face to face in a wrestling match, Jacob will now come face to face with his brother Esau and the 400 men he had with him. Jacob split his entourage in half and arranged his immediate family in a manner that would protect those he loved the most in case Esau arrived with revenge in his heart because of Jacob’s deception 20 years ago. Hoping to appease Esau, Jacob had sent droves of animals as a gift to Esau thinking that perhaps it would keep him from being killed. Genesis 33:4 says, “But Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.”

If only Jacob had trusted and believed what God had spoken to him, he would have saved himself a lot of heartache. It’s no different for believers in Christ today. He wants each person to put complete faith and trust in him.
