Assembly of God
Salt is the unique little workhorse of seasonings. It enhances the flavor of anything, savory or sweet alike. Salt preserves food and can be used to cook succulent meat.
Similarly, light is essential to the enjoyment of life. As the sun rises and bathes the landscape with light, the grays, blues and purples of night give way to the vast display of color in flowers, trees, sky and water.
When Jesus was teaching, he used illustrations. In Matthew 5:13-16, the continuation of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus instructs Christians to be salt and light in the world. Pastor Chuck Franco will deliver a sermon to Assembly of God members titled “Salty and Bright” on Sunday, July 21.
The Bible study will not meet on July 24 and will resume meeting on Wednesday, July 31.
LW Assembly of God meets Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.
The Wednesday Bible study is at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The Hymn Sing is held on the fourth Sunday at 6 p.m., in Clubhouse 3 Lobby. All residents and friends are welcome.
