The Democratic Club’s next voter information meeting will be on Wednesday, July 17, in Clubhouse 3, Room 3, at 1 p.m. All interested LW Democrats and supporters are welcome to attend. Advance reservation is not required, but more information is available by calling 562-594-9148 or emailing Beverleybender@ gmail.com.

The guest speaker for the July 17 meeting will be Karl Seckel, who will address issues related to water. MWDOC provides imported water resources and other services to 27 water agencies and Orange County cities with a combined population of 2.4 million. Seckel was first elected to the MWDOC board in 2020 with the assistance of the LW Democratic Club. He is a registered professional engineer with 45 years of professional water-related expertise. Before being elected to the board, he completed a 37-year tenure as an employee of the district. While there, he was responsible for planning, engineering, emergency preparedness management, and special studies to improve and enhance water supply reliability.
