Free household battery recycling event is July 16
BATTERY RECYCLING
The Golden Age Foundation (GAF) will hold a battery recycling service on Tuesday, July 16, in the Clubhouse 2 parking lot from 10 a.m.-noon. People must show their GRF ID to participate.
The GAF will accept alkaline, carbon zinc, nickel cadmium (NiCd), nickel metal-hydride (NiMH), lithium ion (Li-Ion), lithium metal, silver oxide, button cell batteries and all other dry cell batteries.
Residents are asked to place each lithium battery, including hearing aid batteries, in a separate baggie as part of the recycle requirements.
No commercial batteries will be accepted. This service is only for residents’ personal household batteries.
