GUYS AND GALS GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Guys and Gals Tournament was played at the Turtle Lake Golf course on June 19.

Teams of various skilled golfers of one man and one woman vied for best net scores (gross score minus handicap), plus two circle holes (shots within a 5-foot radius are rewarded), and two closest to the pin challenges. A total of 27 teams (54 players) competed and completed the 18 holes.

Scores were excellent with all 27 teams being net at or below par. Low net score for the round was 44 by three teams —Ron Steele and Sophia Kim, Jae H. and Sun Lee, and John Rudosky and Jane Kors. There were 19 rounds at net 50 or less plus six circle hole winners with 50 birdies. Closest to the pin on the seventh hole was Ralph Koizumi and Kyung Ju and on the 16th hole Pat Paternoster and Sue Sloan.

There were three holes-inone— one each by Linda Herman, Sophia Kim and Alan Sewell.

A flight winners: Ron Steele and Sophia Kim, 10 under 44, first place; Bob Barnum and Kyung Ju, 8 under 46, second; Mike Mayfield and Dale Quinn, 7 under 47, third; Bob and Janice Turner, 5 under 49, fourth.

B flight winners: Alan Sewell and Karen Ford, 9 under 45, first place; Dave LaCascia and Liz Meripol, 7 under 47, second; James Farr and Sandy Derouin, and Young and Hae Lee, 6 under 48, third.

The next Guys and Gals Tournament will be on the third Wednesday of July. The men’s tournament is played every second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Those who had planned to play in any tournament and cannot should contact Scott Tuchfarber at 909-684-0426 or Dave LaCascia at 801-674-5975 as soon possible. Arrive 10-15 minutes prior to scheduled tee time and be ready to play.
