The Korean War broke out on June 25, 1950, marking one of the most tragic conflicts in world history. As time passes, the memory of this war’s tragedy fades for many. On June 23, Sa-Rang Church, led by Senior Pastor John Lee, held a service to commemorate the 74th anniversary.

Four residents and members of Sa-Rang Church were soldiers in the Korean War. These individuals are Pastor Kyo Min Soh, Elder Hong R. Huh, Elder Seung Yoo Hong and Elder Mun Shik Choi, all of whom are over 90 years old.

During the service, Rev. Joh Lee and the congregation expressed their gratitude to God and these four veterans for their service in defending Korea from communism.

Rev. Lee spoke to the congregation about the historical significance of the Korean War, noting that 180,000 young American soldiers participated, with 50,000 losing their lives and 100,000 injured. He extended his thanks to the United States and the United Nations, emphasizing the importance of honoring their sacrifices.

The church plans to invite more Korean War veterans to next year’s service to express their gratitude further.
