First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, most often verse by verse.

Pastor’s Message

Taking on the job of a pastor can be a rigorous undertaking. In 1 Timothy, Paul writes to Timothy who has been serving in the ministry and it is apparent Paul is eager to encourage Timothy in his work. In 1 Timothy 4:10-15, Paul reminds this young pastor of his responsibility of teaching the new believers by his own behavior, in love, trust and purity. Diligence is encouraged for the benefit of everyone.

Pastor Gary Whitlatch will go verse by verse to biblically show how key words in these verses can be applied to each person beginning with 1 Timothy 4:10, “We have our hope set on a living God who is the deliverer of all humanity, especially of those who trust.”

Weekend Services

Sunday services, held from 9:30-10:45 a.m., are traditional with hymnal music led by Janet Ray and Sherry Parmenter at the piano. This week, Ray and Carol Speake will sing a duet titled “Whispering Hope.”

Saturday services include contemporary worship songs led by Gregory Black with guitar and vocal accompaniment from 9:30-10:45 a.m.

Midweek Studies

Melli Herrera leads the women’s Bible study on Mondays from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Whitlatch leads the Tuesday Bible study from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Pastor Bruce Humes leads the Thursday morning Bible study from 10:30-11:30.

Humes also leads the prayer and Bible study on Fridays from 4-5 p.m.

Scripture of the Week

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” 1 Peter 1:3.
